Grandma and I decided to take you to the mall today to get
you out of the house for a bit. We ended up going to Stride Rite to have
you fitted for some new shoes.
At 14 months old you have still never worn or walked in
shoes! You have made no secret of the fact that you hate to have
anything on your feet! I have bought you a couple of pairs of shoes and
you immediately rip them off. So I gave up and returned them!
The time has come to try
again. I want so badly to find shoes you will be comfortable in and
accepting of so you can do more walking and less riding in the stroller.
After having your foot measured, the nice lady picked out a great pair of shoes that were perfect for you. At first you picked each foot up super high to take a step.
It was so funny and adorable to watch as you tried to figure out how to
maneuver in these strange objects on your feet!

Then all of a sudden a
cute little girl, 20 months old, walked playfully by you and got your attention.
It seemed to be just the confidence boost you needed!
Off you went!
You were speed walking and nearly running around that store
like a pro in no time! Once I finally caught you and scooped you up,
you got pretty mad at me! You wanted to keep going!
Finally....you have shoes!!!
